Sejong Telecom, Inc. is a key telecommunications business operator that, on April 1, 2024, spun off its telecommunications business segment to establish the newly formed Sejong Networks Co., Ltd. in order to secure new growth engines and enhance specialization, and is working to strengthen its competitiveness, while also operating an electrical construction business (acquired by acquiring Joil ECS Co., Ltd. in August 2018 and merging it in June 2019). As a new business, the company has completed development of a service platform based on the blockchain mainnet 'BlueBrick' and is pursuing blockchain-related investment business through it, and is preparing for full-scale implementation of its B2B business through the 'Ieum 5G' (or '5G dedicated network') business, which builds 5G wireless networks in specific areas such as client companies' buildings and land using frequencies allocated by the government to provide telecommunications services; the company built a testbed for this in 2022 and has been raising its profile and preparing to launch commercial services through winning government projects and local government demonstration projects.
